Pulpwood
For the pulp- and paper industry wood is by far the most important raw material. The industrial roundwood needed stems predominately from domestic forests.
Industrial roundwood is divided into:
- Pulpwood
Pulpwood (softwood and hardwood) is chopped up first into chips, chemically pulped and manufactured into pulp and finally into paper.
- Groundwood
Groundwood is produced from fresh spruce and mechanically manufactured into mechanical pulp.
